Is Westward Ho! Beach Dog Friendly?
Yes. Westward Ho! has a large dog-friendly section of beach that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are permitted on the northern section of the beach between Sandymere Bridge and the Taw–Torridge Estuary. During this period, dogs are not permitted on the beach south of Sandymere Bridge and must be kept on a lead along the promenade.
Outside the seasonal restriction period, dogs can enjoy the wider beach. Visitors should always check the signs when entering, as restrictions and designated areas can occasionally change.

The pebble ridge separates the beach from Northam Burrows and creates a dramatic backdrop for a walk. During the summer, follow the marked route to the dog-friendly northern section of the beach.

Northam Burrows Country Park
